The main challenge was designing a 3D printing waste recycler that could produce new filament while being manufacturable in the US and minimizing plastic components.
Process
The process had two cycles: first, creating a mechanical proof of concept, and second, developing an optimized design with an EVT prototype.
Results
The result was a compact, functional pre-production product design achieved in eight months.
Compact Design
About the size of a desktop computer, making it easy to fit in any workspace.
Design for Lean Fabrication
Engineered for sheet metal manufacturing, ensuring efficient and streamlined production.
Instant Filament Calibration
Quickly adjusts filament for immediate use.
3-in-1 System
Blends, extrudes, and spools filament all in one machine.
Designed for Repair
Built to be user-accessible, making maintenance and repairs easy.
Bold Industrial Design
Combines modern aesthetics with manufacturability for a striking yet practical look.
